In this class my students will be doing a collaborative
learning project involving internet articles.
Students will be put into groups of 2 or 3 and will have to gather
articles that relate to life science today.
Students can choose online news articles, online magazine articles, or
recent journal articles to gather their information. Each group will need to turn in 9 different
articles that include topics we have discussed in class, such as biomes, animal
kingdoms, and cell life. They will need
to cite each source, write a summary on each article, and write a short paper
in the end encompassing all they that learned from their articles, focusing on
how life science is relevant to the community.
This usage of technology in the project will allow for students to learn
how to access relevant information and show them how much life science is
present in our society.
