Life Science Project

In this class my students will be doing a collaborative learning project involving internet articles.  Students will be put into groups of 2 or 3 and will have to gather articles that relate to life science today.  Students can choose online news articles, online magazine articles, or recent journal articles to gather their information.  Each group will need to turn in 9 different articles that include topics we have discussed in class, such as biomes, animal kingdoms, and cell life.  They will need to cite each source, write a summary on each article, and write a short paper in the end encompassing all they that learned from their articles, focusing on how life science is relevant to the community.  This usage of technology in the project will allow for students to learn how to access relevant information and show them how much life science is present in our society.

Education Today

Technology in the classroom is fundamental in today's schools.  Students use technology everyday and its presence is only getting stronger in our society.  Integrating technology is vital for student success.  Here is a video clip that provides a good summary of this concept.

Technology in the Classroom

We will be frequently using technology in the classroom because I feel that it helps student learning.  Technology is another tool that students can benefit from because it can make learning fun, convenient, and relevant.  Web tools give students fast access to information so that we can maximize class time and review multiple sources in a convenient form.  Many of today’s students are tech savvy and I want to be able to incorporate technology as a tool that they are familiar and comfortable with and also fun.  Technology presents students with more opportunities for learning and I want to be able to help my students succeed in every way.  In my classroom we will integrate science and technology.  You can follow the links below which are tools for technology relating to science and more information expanding your knowledge of science!
